Freelancelot is the dramatic character from a fictional warrior poet from the Knights Templar of 12th century Europe, however, in the spirit of other real warrior poets, he is the ideal embodiment and symbolic composite of those hardy individuals throughout the history of the Church who have trusted in, and do trust in God's grace to achieve the distinguished honor of being rightfully deemed disciples and saints of the Lord Jesus Christ. It must also be stated that he is the embodiment of his creator, Chaplain Rob Johnson's ideal spiritual man and someone that the author desires to emulate and become like, even though he would tell you that he is regrettably, remorsefully, and hopefully repentantly far from achieving this goal and vision as it pertains to the spiritual stature of Freelancelot.

The aforementioned disciplined souls that this character embodies, have allowed themselves to be trained up as individuals adept at spiritual warfare with the understanding that they do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. The weapons of their warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

Freelancelot's Mission

To sanctify the troops through the Word of God for spiritual warfare for no one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please Him who enlisted him as a soldier, also to encourage others to endure hardship as good soldiers of Jesus Christ.

The Origin of His Name

John 8:31-36 “If you abide in My Word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall make you free.” They answered Him, “we are Abraham's descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can you say, “You will be made free?” Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore, if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”

Freelancelot's Motto
"Holiness is Happiness.”

The Attributes of Freelancelot

Pureness of Heart. Singleness of eye and mind. Sanctification of spirit, soul and body. He is a man with a fierce love for God, and his neighbor, for the righteous requirement of the law is fulfilled in him as he walks not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. He is a man of faith and power - not a man of paste and flour

Yes, he lives and walks in the Spirit, always in all circumstances, willing and able to encourage himself and others in the Lord, for he has made his dwelling place in Christ, and the Spirit of God has found a home in his heart. He is a supernatural born leader of men, not in word only, but by the example of his own life. He has been known to wash the feet of others, because he understands that to be great in God's Kingdom, you must learn to be the servant of all. He takes up his cross daily, through self-denial and follows Jesus. He does not seek to gain his own life, but he loses his life for Christ's sake.

Therefore he gains eternal life in the spirit of holiness. A man of boldness, gregarious and outspoken, in no way timid, yet able to hold his tongue and temper in check. He is a man strong in the Lord and in the power of His might, for he is clothed in the full armor of God having his waist girded with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, having his feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace, above all, he has taken the shield of faith, (with which he is able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one), as well as the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit which is the Word of God. He is a man who is aware of his own weakness apart from God's strength, therefore, a man of humility, because he realizes that his sufficiency is of God alone.

He is a man with many admirers and detractors, with many enemies and friends, but few peers. And because his ways please the Lord, there have been times when God has made even his enemies to be at peace with him. He is fearless and fierce in battle against tyranny and unrighteousness.

He heaps coals of fire upon his enemies' heads, for he blesses them that curse him, he prays for those who despitefully use him and does good to those who do harm to him.

Therefore, he is not overcome with evil, but he overcomes evil with good. He is a man of principles, who refuses to compromise them regardless of the personal cost or sacrifice.

He is a gentleman, not a rogue nor a brute nor a bully. He is gentle and kind to the fairer sex, children, and small furry animals.

He is a protector of widows and orphans and works to provide for their needs. He is a family man whose wife and children rise up and call him blessed and a blessing for he is a priest unto them in their Christ-centered home. His wife is willingly submitted to him for he loves her as Christ loves the Church. His children hold him in awe and with great respect for he has brought them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. He is a man of charity and hospitality, willing and able to give of his substance to a needy person or a worthy cause.

He is a minstrel and a poet, at home with a melody and a lyric, easily able to turn a phrase. He is a man of prayer and intercession. He knows how to worship God in spirit and in truth, given to spontaneous rejoicing and expressive praise, for his heart is filled to overflowing with the Holy Spirit of God. He is a man after God's own heart, much like King David. Yes, he is a man of the Spirit, exemplifying the fruit of the Spirit- love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control.

He also moves in the gifts of the Spirit as the Spirit wills, with words of wisdom, words of knowledge, discerning of spirits, miracles, gifts of healing, faith, tongues, interpretations of tongues and prophecy. He is a man of diligence and discipline for he is industrious in his doings and whatever his hands find to do, he does it with all his might. He is not a man given to drink and gluttony, slothfulness or slumber.

He is a man whose prioritiesare in order. He remains at the feet of Jesus, even in the midst of an active life. Yet, he has been known to come aside and spend much time in meditation in the word, fasting and prayer, in deep communion with his Lord and Savior, only to return in the power of the Spirit, in order to serve God more effectively.

He is a man who hungers and thirsts after righteousness, therefore he eats daily of the Bread of Life and drinks deeply from the wellsprings and rivers of the Spirit, which flow from his innermost being. He is a man in pursuit of holiness, for without holiness, no one shall see the Lord. He is a man who cherishes communion with his heavenly Father, and his heavenly Father cherishes communion with him.

A Word From Freelancelot

From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of Heaven allows pressure, and those who press into it, take it by force. Therefore, my aspiration is that of the Apostle Paul, “To be found in Christ, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith, that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His suffering, being conformed to His death, if by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead, not that I have already attained or am already perfected, but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended, but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead. I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Therefore let us as many as are mature, have this mind, and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you. Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule' let us be of the same mind. Therefore, I beseech you, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God which is your spiritual service and be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you might prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."
